The Expanse is my new favorite sci-fi series
Ok, maybe not, but while I’ve got some mixed feelings about Rise of Skywalker after reading all some of the spoilers, I just finished the new season of this show and it is probably the best science fiction TV I’ve ever seen. If you’re into pew pew spaceships and alien planets and such and you don’t watch this show (on Amazon Prime now), you’re an idiot.

The only reason I haven’t watched it is that it is rated TV-14. I prefer my sci-fi more R or TV-MA.
That said I do enjoy some lower rated shows(The Manda lo rian and others ), I’m less likely to give them a chance though.

I mean there’s some gore. At one point a guy in a spaceship decelerates instantly and basically splatters onto the screen. And now that it’s moved to Amazon they’ve increased the F-bomb quotient considerably and there was a near Game of Thrones sex scene. Not super hardcore but like, I wouldn’t let a kid watch it.

Maybe I’ll have to give it a try. Have you watched “Another Life” on Netflix? It’s pretty interesting.

The fact that we only have internet access via satellite means that I can never binge watch The Expanse... however, since I've read all the books so far... I'm okay with this.

Watched the first season and loved it, but I haven’t taken the time to watch the rest. Several years ago, my gf worked on Sundays and I’d have all day to watch TV...and that’s when I watched it. Since then, her schedule has changed to just weekdays like mine, and she has no interest in it. So I get to watch her shows, or get yelled at for going to do something else instead of watching her shows with her.

I tried watching it, but I really hated the stuff on Ceres which turned me off to the whole show.

IIRC the first episode basically opened with a zero-g sex scene? More R-movie revealing than outright pornography, but still...

It’s not consistent throughout every episode but there’s plenty of gore and F-bombs. Star Trek Discovery is TV-MA when this isn’t but IMHO they could easily switch ratings.

Eh, it’s good but I made the mistake of reading the books first and now I can’t get into the show because they cut out sooooo much.

It appears the leaks were 99% correct. The first reviews are not good
